Diphenhydramine HCI 50 Mg Allergy Medicine and Antihistamine Compare to Activ... Review

I take Benadryl to sleep, as it is a nonaddicting sleep aid.
I stumbled onto this large supply on Amazon. I am one who would buy all medications in a year's supply if I could. I was suspect of them for the price and quantity, but they work just like Benadryl.

Kirkland AllerClear Loratadine 10 mg Antihistamine Tablets, 300-Count Bottle Review

Kirkland AllerClear Loratadine 10 mg Antihistamine Tablets, 300-Count Bottle
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Loratadine is an antihistamine that is used for typical allergy symptoms, such as a stuffy or runny nose, itchy watery eyes, scratchy throat (due to allergies), and rashes, itching, and hives. (It can also be used in some cases to limit asthma attacks).
Antihistamines block the release of histamine, a naturally occurring substance in the body that produces all the allergy symptoms we want to get rid of.
There are several antihistamines you can purchase over the counter, Loratadine is a second generation antihistamine, and Benadryl (diphenhydramine) is the older first generation product. Loratadine will be a bit more expensive than diphenhydramine, as it is the newer of the two. However, I believe it is a much superior product because is has so few side effects.
The usual dose of Loratadine is 10 mg a day. This offers an advantage over the first generation antihistamines (Benadryl), in that they are dosed every 8 hours. The main and most significant advantage of Loratadine over the first generation antihistamines is that Loratadine will not cause drowsiness and has less overall side effects and less adverse interactions with other medications (and alcohol).
People with liver disease should discuss the use of Loratadine with their doctor. Pregnant women should avoid using Loratadine as studies have shown a risk to the fetus.
Loratadine is very effective in treating allergy symptoms. I like the non-sedating quality and the once daily dosing.

Be very careful when ordering. The shipped claritin has only a few months of shelf life left and it is mentioned nowhere in the offering. It usually is not a problem, but I ordered a few packets. If you order these, do not order more than just one box!!! Otherwise a great price. I give it two stars b/c it should be mentioned somewhere that the packets are very old and only have 2-3 month before expiring.

Claritin 24 Hour Allergy, Tablets Review

Claritin 24 Hour Allergy, Tablets
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Claritin (Loratidine) is a medication in the class of anti-histamines. Histamine is a chemical in our cells that is released during an allergy attack. Histamine causes all the symptoms of allergies: sneezing, nasal congestion, itching, hives, etc. Being an anti-histamine, Claritin blocks the action of histamine in the body.
Claritin replaced Benadryl (Diphenhydramine) as the #1 doctor prescribed allergy medication, the reason being that Claritin does not have any drowsiness as a side-effect like Benadryl has. Benadryl has very significant sleepiness as a side-effect, and this limited its use in people who needed to operate cars, machinery, or needed to have full-attention in their jobs. The sleepiness of Benadryl was so marked, that manufacturers marketed it as a sleeping aid! (Diphenhydramine is the component in Tylenol PM or Excedrine PM, it is also in all the sleeping pill formulations). Fortunately for allergy sufferers, Claritin has no sleepiness as a side-effect, in fact, Claritin has virtually NO side effects, which makes it an excellent medication to take if you are taking other medications as well. Plus, Claritin WORKS to counter allergy symptoms. I developed a form of full-body hives that persisted for over a year, and Claritin was a God-send for me. Without Claritin, my life would have been miserable.
Up until a few years ago, Claritin was a prescription medication and was the mainstay for doctors to prescribe for allergies. Once its potential for abuse was determined to be nil, and its safety factor proven, it was released on the market as an over-the-counter allergy medication.
Claritin still is expensive, as the medication is still "owned" by a major drug company. Until its lease expires and it can be marketed as the generic Loratidine, consumers will have to ante up the money if they want the best over-the-counter allergy medication available. If you can't or won't afford Claritin, then the cheaper alternative is Benedryl (Diphenhydramine), and you put up with the drowsiness.
Hope this helps.

Boiron Homeopathic Medicine Histaminum Hydrochloricum, 6C Pellets, 80-Count Tubes (Pack of 5) Review

Here on California's Central Coast we have a heavy oak bloom with lots of wind in the Spring. The dust and pollen combine for a brutal allergy season. I've found the combination of histaminum and natrum, in conjuction with the practice of daily neti, works to stymie most allergy symptoms - provided one is very careful and reserved about diet and keeps internally clean. Homeopathy is not exactly my yen, but this is the only natural cure, besides waterless fasting, that I've found to work. If you've had success with other stuff I welcome your comments.

Zyrtec Allergy Relief (10 mg) Review

Zyrtec Allergy Relief (10 mg)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Zyrtec 10 mg tablets are truly a godsend! I suffer from allergies almost year round; and when I take a Zyrtec pill things calm down pretty quickly. I am soon able to breathe through my nose and my eyes aren't so irritated. In addition, Zyrtec is absolutely essential for me; I sometimes play with my neighbor's dogs but because I am still mildly allergic to the dogs' pet dander and fur I use these Zyrtec pills to alleviate my symptoms from playing with the dogs.
The tablets work for just about twenty-four hours just like the makers advertise it to work; but if things aren't quite OK even with the Zyrtec I sometimes pop another--with my doctor's "OK," that is. This drug does not make me drowsy the way other allergy medicines can; and I really like that.
Zyrtec is also supposed to stop the itching that comes with hives; but I can't comment on that because I have not needed to take this for hives. I also don't experience itchy eyes but I would imagine that this product would alleviate that problem.
Of course, follow the directions on the bottle very carefully; and don't take more than the recommended dose unless you get the "OK" from your doctor. If you have any questions or concerns about this product ask your doctor first before taking this medicine. In addition, use these tablets before their expiration date.
Overall, Zyrtec tablets really help immeasurably when I need to fight allergy symptoms from pet fur and dander, dust, or pollen. I highly recommend this product!

Diphenhydramine HCl 25 Mg Allergy Medicine and Antihistamine Compare to Active Ingredient of Benadryl? Allergy Generic - 400 Tablets Review

Diphenhydramine HCl 25 Mg Allergy Medicine and Antihistamine Compare to Active Ingredient of Benadryl? Allergy Generic - 400 Tablets
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Diphenhydramine is an antihistamine. It is used to block histamine release in the body. Histamine causes all manner of allergy symptoms: stuffy or runny nose, sinus inflammation, scratchy throat, itching, and hives.
Diphenhydramine is the ingredient in Benadryl, although Benadryl will cost much more than diphenydramine, since Benadryl is a brand-name drug. It is important to realize that both forms are equally equivalent in efficacy. Therefore, it makes sense to purchase the generic equivalent.
A major side effect of diphenhydramine is sedation/drowsiness. It will definately make you tired and sleepy. However, this side effect can be used as an advantage, as the medication can also be marketed as a sleeping aid. It will help you fall asleep faster and generally acts all night long. In fact, many people report a "hangover" morning effect from taking diphenhydramine the night before.
Thus, diphenhydramine has two main uses: that as an allergy medication and as a sleeping aid. Companies often add diphenhydramine to their analgesic products, such as Tylenol, to give both pain relief and a sleeping aid (Tylenol PM).
Diphenhydramine has other troubling side-effects that bear mentioning. First, is should not be used in those with narrow-angle glaucoma, or anyone with stomach problems, such as continual stomach upset or ulcers of the stomach. Second, diphenhydramine can cause a retention of urine, especially in those that have an enlarged prostate. Anyone with prostate problems should avoid diphenhydramine like the plaque. Don't take diphenhydramine with any other depressants, as the effects are additive. The same holds true for alcohol; don't take both at the same time.
The usual adult dosage is 25-50 mg, 3-4 times a day. Use the lowest effective dose to treat your symptoms. Pregnant women should avoid any antihistamines, as the medication has been known to cause birth defects.
While this is a great medication for allergies, there are better, newer antihistamines that do not produce the drowsiness that diphenhydramine does. (check out Claritin as a better, but more costly substitute).

The Original Aroma Therapipe, Salt Pipe, Respiratory and Asthma Aid Review

The Original Aroma Therapipe, Salt Pipe, Respiratory and Asthma Aid
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
(I have a very similar Himalayan crystal salt inhaler to this one- not this exact one, but I wanted to share my experience)
My mom was bugging for me to try the salt pipe for a while, as I've suffered from increased asthma/ respiratory ailments since moving to Los Angeles 8 years ago. I have to admit- I was skeptical, and it seemed a bit too hippy-dippy for it to really be all that effective. However, she finally purchased one for me after my Advair had ceased to help anymore, and my coughing fits were getting worse and more frequent.
All I can say is WOW. I noticed a HUGE improvement within a few days of using it. I had all this gunk come up from my lungs (you do cough up a bit of congestion, but better out than in, right?), and the coughing went away as well. I was surprised at how effective this was- I let it lapse for a week, and my coughing rebounded- started back on it and the coughing went away.
My advair ran out the same time I started the salt pipe, and I haven't had to refill the prescription since. I'm glad I've found a replacement- the advair isn't cheap, and even though this seems like it'd be a pain to use the pipe for 10-15 minutes a day, you just use it while watching TV or on the internet, and it goes by without you even noticing it.
The only thing is to watch out that you don't breathe out through your mouth. (you can get the salt wet that way, which makes it less effective)
I would HIGHLY recommend to anybody suffering from respiratory problems from air pollution/ asthma, etc...

Sinus Buster for allergies (now called Allergy Buster) instantly stops the headache and after a few moments causes any nasal congestion to break up. I have been using this product for almost a year now, nothing except for steroids would work. Now, I don't have to worry about the side effects of steroids. Though it causes a little pain, it is worth it. Also, as you use it over time the initial pain lessens.

I have dealt with congestion, both pulmonary and sinus, for many years. Back in the day, I could get plain guaifenesin by prescription, but Mucinex is a fine substitute. Pricey, true, but so worth it to keep secretions thin so I am able to get rid of them. For me, it thins sinus congestion equally as well as chest, so that sinuses are able to drain and relieve the inevitable headache. This is the best price per tablet that I have found to date, and I will continue to purchase from Amazon.

Similasan Allergy Eye Relief Eye Drops, .33 Ounce Bottle Review

Similasan Allergy Eye Relief Eye Drops, .33 Ounce Bottle
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
These Similasan Allergy Eye drops are the only thing that has helped my dry eyes.
My eyes had been so dry, they were tearing, inflamed and painful all the time.
A top eye Dr. at Mass General tested my eyes & said they were extremely dry.
He never tested me for allergies or mentioned this product. He immediately put plugs in my eyes, which caused a terrible allergic reaction.
He said he had never seen this reaction. He had also given me Restasis (prescription).
Another top eye Dr. in NYC also prescribed Restasis. (He did not test for allergies either).
The Restasis did not work. I tried many over the counter Dry Eye products, and nothing worked.
Finally, my sister mentioned that maybe the dry eye was caused by allergies.
I went to a local health food store & bought both the Similasan Dry Eye & Allergy Eye drops. The Dry Eye product did not work, but the Allergy Eye product is amazing.
I did research & probably have a condition called Blepharitis...common in fair people of Irish/German descent. Occusoft eye pads & eye wash help too. (Available at CVS, Duane Reade, etc). You need to be your own Dr.

Ridgecrest - Clear Lungs, 1000 mg Review

Ridgecrest - Clear Lungs, 1000 mg
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
For most of my life I have had problems with my bronchial tubes, typically during season changes or if I am exposed to high levels of dust or fumes. My problem always starts with a light wheezing that intensifies until I can barely sleep, from that point I only have a short period of time to see a medical doctor for a breathing treatment or some albuterol before I reach full blown bronchitis. For years I coped with with annual bouts of bronchitis and occasionally pneumonia. About 3 years ago I first tried Clear Lungs when I started wheezing and to my surprise my wheezing stopped within a few hours, and after taking it for a day my wheezing stopped entirely. I have since taken Clear Lungs every time I start to wheeze and have had consistently good results. Whats more is if I take a few capsules before I confront a known trigger I can avoid the wheezing episodes all together. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who has had similar issues.

Chloraseptic Allergen Block Gel, .1-Ounce Packages Review

Chloraseptic Allergen Block Gel, .1-Ounce Packages
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have always had minor symptoms with allergies. I live in a high desert, low humidity area that includes a daily pollen report with the weather; trees, grass and weeds. This year has been particularly more distressful. The local news says something about; because of the wind and particle size able to enter the lung more easier.
So I ventured around with OTC meds, sprays, logenzes. My throat would feel stratchy and I would start a relentless cough, sneezing, along with a stuffy nose.
I started putting vics vapor rub around my nostrils and upper lip to no prevail of my symptoms. I, then, began to hear advertising about the Choraseptic Allergen Block.
One more to try the same way.

Today, grasses are mod-high and I have used this for two days, minimal stuffy nose, but no coughing. My cats sleep inside on my bed after being out all day. My coughing tends to start then. My coughing then starts to irritates my cats. I am not allergic to cats, but who knows where they have played and laid in all day.
The box has specific instructions, says to apply early in regard to symptoms and reapply every four hours. I cannot give a full season of review, but this so far is working the best. Has to do with positively-charged gel which blocks negatively-charged allergens on contact.

Quercetin with Bromelain 120 Vegetarian Capsules Review

Quercetin with Bromelain 120 Vegetarian Capsules
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have been plagued by almost constant earaches for at least 10 years. Most of the time I wouldn't even bother going to the doctor for them. When I did he would prescribe an antibiotic and the earache would temporarily go away, but then be right back in a week or two. Finally he decided I had sinus problems and prescribed a couple of medicines that helped somewhat, but still did not eliminate my ear problem, so he advised that I should go on two more prescribed drugs and they would probably take care of the problem. . . I refused. These prescriptions would have cost in the neighborhood of $300/month and additionally some of them had rather unpleasant side effects. Now, I do have health insurance and after meeting my deductible, it would have covered 80% of the cost, but roughly $3600 per year for my sinuses????
I felt there had to be a better, simpler way to deal with the problem, so I started researching on the Internet for what else might be available. . .and I found this quercetin/bromelain product. Reading many many articles in the public press, and a few scientific studies, etc. piqued my interest and I ordered my first bottle about 10 weeks ago. The initial effect was immediate. Really within minutes my sinuses began opening. . .within days my ears stopped aching and in a few weeks my energy level had gone up to a point I hadn't had in maybe 20-30 years.
Again reading on the Internet, I hadn't realized what a problem chronic sinusitis could be and I want to tell you that I never considered myself to be one who had a sinus problem. I never had any obvious signs. My nose wasn't continually stuffed up. I did not realize that I had constant drainage, etc., but chronic sinusitis can have as a symptom: great fatigue.
I'm afraid that my extreme enthusiasm for this product will make you think I'm some sort of a nut, but since starting to take it I'm walking my dog 2-4 miles per day. I've lost considerable weight. My grand children are living with us at the moment, I've begun to get up out of bed 2 hours earlier than I need to for my Bible devotions and to have breakfast with my grand children. I feel better than I have in years and years.
I think the chronic sinusitis was like carrying around a 30 or 40 pound weight everywhere I went. It was a drag on my whole system. Maybe this won't work as well for you, but for me it literally has been a life changer. . .

NasalCrom Allergy Prevention Nasal Spray, 0.88-Ounce Spray Bottles (Pack of 2) Review

NasalCrom Allergy Prevention Nasal Spray, 0.88-Ounce Spray Bottles (Pack of 2)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
For the most part, my alergies are sporadic and only show up every couple of years. When it does hit, though, I used to miserable for weeks, and no over the counter med helped significantly. Then I discovered this little miracle in a bottle. Nasalcrom puts a stop to the sneezing and runny nose syndrome.
If I let myself get into "allergy mode" I have to use the spray every couple of hours for the first day, to keep the symptoms under control. But once I get through about 18-24 hours, Nasalcrom pretty much eliminates all allergy symptoms, and I just have to use it 2 or three times a day for several days, then after a week, I get down to 1 or 2 times per day. Then eventually, I stop using it and I'm fine for a long time.
This last time, I went probably a good 2 or 3 years with no alergy symptoms, but then it came back with a vengeance this month. I was horrified to find that Nasalcrom had dissappeared from the stores. Walgreens, CVS, WalMart... I couldn't find Nasalcrom anywhere. I did find it here on Amazon, but I couldn't wait days to receive a shipment. I finally found out that CVS has a generic version called "Cromolyn Sodium Nasal Solution USP." I tried it and it does work just as well as Nasalcrom.
So for anyone out there who needs relief immediately, and can't find Nasalcrom locally, CVS has the solution, at least for now.
