Omega 3 Fish Oil By Spring Valley Vitamin Twin Pack Review

(More customer reviews)These seem inexpensive compared to similar fish oil supplements, but each contains only 300 mg of Omega 3s (1000 mg of fish oil), and you must take three to get only 900 mg of Omega 3's (and each capsule is still an inch long). The front labeling of 1000 mg is true, but the "Omega 3 Fish Oil" implied to me that a capsule contained 1000 mg of Omega 3. This is not true. When you look at the nutrition label (which isn't available here), you see the specifics.
It isn't often for me that I find products on Amazon that are not adequately labeled on the site, but this is one of them.

Nature Made Potassium Gluconate 550mg Review

(More customer reviews)I read the 2 previous reviews (one positive and one negative). I couldn't quite understand the negative review. Now I do. I would give this 0 stars if I could.
This is advertised as 550 mg of potassium gluconate. I wondered why the reviewer was furious about the small amount (90 mg) of potassium in the tablet. I figured with 550 mg I would be set.
If you notice, there is an image of the front of the bottle, but not the back.
It turns out that 550 mg of potassium gluconate is equivalent to only 90 mg of actual potassium which is about 2% of the daily recommended amount (this is shown on the nutritional label on the back of the bottle). This is the same amount that you get in any mulitvitamin or about 1/4 of a cup of orange juice. So this is not a higher level of potassium for someone trying to increase their intake.
In my opinion this is just deceptive. Other brands available on amazon openly state the amount of potassium (Member's Mark and Spring Valley to name two). At least then you know what you are getting.
Even though this purchase was less than $10, I am sending it back just on principle.

About 2 years ago my eyes were severely dry, meaning my own tear film only stayed on my eye 1-2 seconds before dissapearing. My Dr put the kind of silicone tear duct plugs that go inside of your tear duct(the others kept coming out), he told me to use non-preservative eye drops as needed, night time eye gel & gave me a prescription for Restasis. Within weeks I actually had moist eyes, I had forgotten what that was supposed to feel like, it was great that was until my insurance stopped covering my prescription and I stopped taking it.
I was wanting to get Lasik but feared my eyes were too dry so I started looking up ways to moisten my eyes. Actually on the Dr who I eventually went to see for my Lasik had a place on there for Dry eyes. One of the things is to take Flaxseed Oil 3 times a day. I immediatly started taking 1 pill, 3 times a day. I would say after the 1st week of taking it I started noticing a difference.
Many times when I wake up my eyes are completely dry, once I started the Flaxseed they were not. Once I started taking it, if I squeezed my eye lids together I could actually feel a little moisture, normally I would feel nothing.
Having had dry eyes for at least 10 years and having it severe at one point, I can honestly say taking Flaxseed Oil has made a HUGE difference.
I passed my Lasik stuff, Dr said my eyes were somewhat dry but not too dry for Lasik. Once I had my appt I slacked off and was not taking it on a regular basis and my eyes started to get dry again, it was a noticible difference so I now make sure I take it 3 times a day, everyday.
I buy mine at our local pharmacy, you can normally find them on sale buy 1, get 1 free.
If you have dry eyes, give this a try...your eyes will Thank You for it!!!

I took it for about 2 weeks before I actually did some reading about it and knew I was doing many things wrong. Including making the wrong purchase. Any brand will probably do, (as long as it is made properly, see #2 below) but I have found Nature Made to be the best selection when it came to purchasing Sam-E. (Yes, I have actually bought and tried the 200mg tablets) No matter what brand you buy, you have to give it TIME to work. 7-10 days is the timeframe that it will typically start to work in, but I have heard of occasions where it has taken longer. After 12 days if you have seen no positive change in mood, up the dose. Eventually, work your way up to taking 1200mg of Sam-E daily for best results.
Stomach Cramps and even the possibility of ulcers be a serious problem for people taking Sam-E. I have compiled a list of precautions and things you can do to prevent this:
1) Make sure you take this product on an EMPTY STOMACH. An empty stomach means not having eaten anything for roughly an hour. The best time to take this is in the morning, right after waking up. Finally, make sure you do not eat for at least 30 MINUTES after taking Sam-e. More time may be required as you take more of the supplement.
2) Do NOT purchase Sam-E tablets that are not enteric coated and are not in a box/blister wrap. The Entric coating prevents the pills from being absorbed by your body until they reach the lower intestine which will prevent a majority of stomach cramps and stomach pains. Not only this, but it will prevent the Sam-E from being dissolved in the stomach which renders it virtually useless.
Also, On a lot of the "Product Ads from External Websites," I have seen a lot of retailers trying to hawk Sam-E in bottles...NOT ok! It is a BIG mistake to buy Sam-E in bottles, I won't get onto it here but you can google it and you will see why. It must be blister wrapped for ultimate freshness!
I hope I have been of assistance, if taken right you will see a dramatic positive change in your mood!

Compared to the wonder drug (for high-tri problems) Lovaza:
EPA 465mg per
DHA 375mg per
So you're getting a little less EPA and considerably less DHA compared to the prescription fish oil pill. But for me (and I'd assume most people who have pharmacy copays and/or deductibles), the cost of taking one additional supplement capsule per day is ultimately FAR less expensive than going prescription.

I ordered (6) six bottles of advanced, and the invoice in the box stated advanced. The bottles were NOT advanced formula. No huperzine, and the bottle label is not for advanced either.
I called vitamin shoppe, and it was difficult to convince them of the fact. Eventually, being an RN, and transfering to a supervisor re no huperzine, she agreed to have UPS pick it up.
This is a major error on the part of vitamin shoppe, misrepresenting it on Amazon.com. The picture of the label is also misrepresented from what I received. It was not a matter of mixing up the two formulations, as they only carry one kind of Irvin's ginko smart.
