(More customer reviews)Not a day goes by that I don't use these gelcaps, ever since my stroke 6 years ago. Not only that, but now I also purchase them for my mother. who just turned 80 in July. Her doctor said her cholesterol results lowered over 40 points in just 2 months after starting to use this product. My results changed dramatically from high triglycerides + high blood pressure to an average range within normal limits. Both doctors said to keep this regimen since it is definitely helping because diets alone and medications weren't enough to give these kind of results.
I was impressed with the order because of two features...professional packing and extra gelcaps (increased from 300 to 400) compared to my last purchase from another seller.
I researched this product a lot and strength quality was also improved in this order...my last order came in a manila folder without any kind of cushioning...this one came in a box with airpad protection. I will definitely re-order from this seller next time

Taking fish oil while pregnant has recently been linked to lower rates of allergies in children who have a family history. These were the only brand I found that stated no detecable levels of mercury - which is critical while pregnant. My doctor also recommened freezing them - it cuts down on the fishy after taste.

(More customer reviews)Whether the DHA is doing anything for me I can't say for sure. I do think I finish newspaper puzzles faster because of it, but that's not based on any scientific study. What I like about these capsules is that they look fresh. A previous version of these used a casing that looked like the capsules were quite old and seemed rigid, if not more difficult to swallow. These are not unlike my wife's gelatin based capsules. As a committed vegetarian (who would have thought that I would out myself on Amazon) it was important to not use animal products at all and DEVA's product lives up to that and the quality of the product is an added bonus.

(More customer reviews)I am a physician. I was on lipitor for about 4 years until I found out it was giving me rhabdomyolysis (muscle breakdown). The manufacturers of statins state that this is a rare side effect and I even counselled my patients that this is about a 1/200 incidence. Well after delving into the research a bit more it turns out that pretty much everyone taking statins has some degree of muscle pathology on biopsy, with the majority being subclinical...but not insignificant. Being a work-out nut this could not be tolerated.
I stopped the Lipitor and went on a low fat diet (20% fat) with Mega Red. To be fair I am also taking a proprietary 3-6-9 omega oil blend as well (Udo's Blend) although it is not clear that this affects cholesterol levels and makes no claims to. I have been on the Mega Red for about 2 months and the low fat diet for about 2 weeks and got my levels rechecked. Total cholesterol went from 240 (pre-lipitor) to 179. LDL from 160 to 119 and HDL from 35 to 40. All as good or better than I got on 20 mg of Lipitor.
Now I no longer have to worry about muscle breakdown and my LFT's are normal for the first time in 4 years. As an added bonus I can get this locally for about $27 for a 4-month supply (with coupon and buy-1-get-1 deals) which is about 1/4 the cost of Lipitor. Well this is one anecdotal success story so take it for what it's worth. I have put a lot of energy into exercizing and going low fat as well so under those circumstances I can say that it seems to work for me andI am very happy with the results.

Since this is my first pregnancy, I didn't realize that omega-3 fatty acids were beneficial to the brain development of the growing embryo and fetus. I only knew at the time that pregnant women were supposed to be taking prenatal vitamins. I started taking Expecta Lipil around the 4th month of pregnancy. I figure it's never too late to start since I only learned of such information during my 2nd trimester. I am now starting my 3rd trimester.
I recommend this product based on several factors: 1. I didn't experience any side effects. 2. The product is manufactured by Mead Johnson, a reputable manufacturer of baby products. 3. The softgel is easily taken with my prenatal vitamins after a meal. 4. This brand was recommended by a seasoned health professional. 5. The product will definitely benefit my growing baby. 6. The purchase of a pack of 2 (60 gels total)definitely saved me some money. I ordered several packs to last for the duration of my pregnancy.
I only gave 4 out of 5 stars because initially I had difficulty removing a softgel from its blister packaging. The backing was not perforated. To easily remove a softgel, I punctured the backing with my thumb nail to tear it off. Also, absorption information was neither provided on the box nor at the manufacturer's website. This information would be helpful for the curious mother to roughly determine the amount of fatty acids that actually migrates into our bloodstream. This would allow me to keep track of my nutritional intake during my pregnancy. (In case you are wondering, I have a science background and have been working for the pharmaceutical industry for almost a decade.)

(More customer reviews)No one is really equipped to evaluate this product on it's quality. The capsules are easy to swallow and do not produce an aftertaste or "burb" for me. One warning: on the product bottle it says:
"Each Carlson NORWEGIAN SALMON OIL soft gels contains 1 gram (1000 mg) of fish oil extracted from salmon and OTHER FISH..."
This seems to contradict the statement in the product description given on Amazon.
That certainly is not he fault of the manufacturer and does not speak negatively to the product quality.

(More customer reviews)I agree, I'm so angry that they would put artificial food coloring in these PRENATALS. We're not kids, and don't need attractive colors to help us take these vitamins. When I first started taking them, I thought the a company that calls themselves "Nature Made" just used beets for coloring, until about 2 weeks later I decided to read the back label more carefully and noticed they have Red 40, and blue and yellow. It's all over the web to try and avoid eating food with Red 40 during pregnancy. I will never trust this company again, especially since their name implies that they are "natural".

(More customer reviews)My son has CP and is therefore physically delayed. I started giving him this fish oil and he is the best talker and most attentive 2 year-old that his speech therapist has. She is always amazed at how long his attention span is and how easily he picks up on and repeats things. I believe the fish oil helped in all of this. I put it in his drink every night and he doesn't even taste it.
