(More customer reviews)These seem inexpensive compared to similar fish oil supplements, but each contains only 300 mg of Omega 3s (1000 mg of fish oil), and you must take three to get only 900 mg of Omega 3's (and each capsule is still an inch long). The front labeling of 1000 mg is true, but the "Omega 3 Fish Oil" implied to me that a capsule contained 1000 mg of Omega 3. This is not true. When you look at the nutrition label (which isn't available here), you see the specifics.
It isn't often for me that I find products on Amazon that are not adequately labeled on the site, but this is one of them.

Chia Seeds 2 Pounds Review

(More customer reviews)I was introduced to chia seeds by my daughter (a Level 1 Trauma Center emergency room nurse)when I last visited her digs. "Hey dad! Try this..." and then she handed me a 16 oz glass with what I thought I recognized as floating detritus from a poorly washed glass. I looked at her and she said "They're chia seeds!" So I took a big gulp of the drink as she explained how great they were for me. She sent me home with a zip lock bag full of them and her follow-on instructions:
Take 1 TBSP with a 16 oz glass of water once a day for a week.
Take 2 TBSP with a 16 oz glass of water once a day for a week.
Take 2 glasses of water in the morning and afternoon with the two TBSP dosage.
A remarkable think happened after 7-10 days in the process. It was around 2:00 pm in the afternoon and I didn't remember making coffee that morning. I checked my favorite coffee mug (usually used it 2-3x in the morning)and it was brand-spanking clean still in the cupboard. And I haven't felt the need to have coffee since. No withdrawal symptoms, no DT's, nothing. Like I said, the coffee industry is going to HATE this review.
More energy, have lost 6 lbs in 2 weeks, and I'm off of coffee (an addiction I had for over 30 years)!
As for the seller, I received the 5 lb bag double bagged and there was no leakage, anything. Nicely packaged and shipped promptly. I'm hooked for sure...
Although some may disagree, I usually prep 2 glasses for the chia seeds before I go to bed (just leave 'em on the counter)and give them a stir in the morning. I usually add a slug of Trader Joe's cranberry juice to each glass just because if chia seeds are great, then chia seeds with cranberry juice have to be awesome, at least by my way of thinking.
FWIW, I'm NOT a vegetarian - just a regular working stiff who realizes that the results of the health-care system doesn't start with a primary care physician - it starts with us...

After 3rd day of taking the tablets (only one per day), folks stayed clear of me... it took another two days for the odor to stop emanating from my body. If you don't like your co-workers, take these daily. If you take one or two a week, you're likely ok. Perhaps there are brands without the side effect, this isn't one of them imho.

HOWEVER, they state on the product info that the source of chondroitin is bovine, which is an absolutely critical buying criteria for those who follow Jewish or Muslim laws, and I wouldn't buy this product from them unless is was from cow cartliage, not a pig product. The bottle they sent me lists the sources as "Bovine, Porcine, Avian" which is totally unacceptable and clearly a case of false advertising! Amazon willingly gave me a refund, but the point is that the seller lied and I certainly won't trust them again.

(More customer reviews)I am almost 30 years old and have had dry eyes for at least 10 years. About 2 years ago my eyes were severely dry, meaning my own tear film only stayed on my eye 1-2 seconds before dissapearing. My Dr put the kind of silicone tear duct plugs that go inside of your tear duct(the others kept coming out), he told me to use non-preservative eye drops as needed, night time eye gel & gave me a prescription for Restasis. Within weeks I actually had moist eyes, I had forgotten what that was supposed to feel like, it was great that was until my insurance stopped covering my prescription and I stopped taking it.
I was wanting to get Lasik but feared my eyes were too dry so I started looking up ways to moisten my eyes. Actually on the Dr who I eventually went to see for my Lasik had a place on there for Dry eyes. One of the things is to take Flaxseed Oil 3 times a day. I immediatly started taking 1 pill, 3 times a day. I would say after the 1st week of taking it I started noticing a difference.
Many times when I wake up my eyes are completely dry, once I started the Flaxseed they were not. Once I started taking it, if I squeezed my eye lids together I could actually feel a little moisture, normally I would feel nothing.
Having had dry eyes for at least 10 years and having it severe at one point, I can honestly say taking Flaxseed Oil has made a HUGE difference.
I passed my Lasik stuff, Dr said my eyes were somewhat dry but not too dry for Lasik. Once I had my appt I slacked off and was not taking it on a regular basis and my eyes started to get dry again, it was a noticible difference so I now make sure I take it 3 times a day, everyday.
I buy mine at our local pharmacy, you can normally find them on sale buy 1, get 1 free.
If you have dry eyes, give this a try...your eyes will Thank You for it!!!

The pills are also harder then normal but they disolve just fine. I dropped these in a glass of water and saw for myself that the pills disolve and become solf very easily. The pills are also large but the size is standard for all fish pills that I have seen so far but don't let that scare you. I was able to swallow them just fine.

Schiff MegaRed Omega-3 Krill Oil 300 mg-90 Softgels Review

(More customer reviews)I am a physician. I was on lipitor for about 4 years until I found out it was giving me rhabdomyolysis (muscle breakdown). The manufacturers of statins state that this is a rare side effect and I even counselled my patients that this is about a 1/200 incidence. Well after delving into the research a bit more it turns out that pretty much everyone taking statins has some degree of muscle pathology on biopsy, with the majority being subclinical...but not insignificant. Being a work-out nut this could not be tolerated.
I stopped the Lipitor and went on a low fat diet (20% fat) with Mega Red. To be fair I am also taking a proprietary 3-6-9 omega oil blend as well (Udo's Blend) although it is not clear that this affects cholesterol levels and makes no claims to. I have been on the Mega Red for about 2 months and the low fat diet for about 2 weeks and got my levels rechecked. Total cholesterol went from 240 (pre-lipitor) to 179. LDL from 160 to 119 and HDL from 35 to 40. All as good or better than I got on 20 mg of Lipitor.
Now I no longer have to worry about muscle breakdown and my LFT's are normal for the first time in 4 years. As an added bonus I can get this locally for about $27 for a 4-month supply (with coupon and buy-1-get-1 deals) which is about 1/4 the cost of Lipitor. Well this is one anecdotal success story so take it for what it's worth. I have put a lot of energy into exercizing and going low fat as well so under those circumstances I can say that it seems to work for me andI am very happy with the results.

"It really does make a difference," he assured me. Worse case scenario, he added that we could consider tear duct plugs, if these measures didn't help.
Eighteen months later, I've cut back to once-a-day use of the Restasis, and my multiple-times daily drops are a thing of the past. I still use the night ointment, but otherwise, I rely on Theratears.
If you have severe dry eye syndrome, try this. My specialist even swears by them!
