(More customer reviews)Look, i'm not saying this is the perfect cure-all tablet for those going through the annoying and painful process of Menopause; However, I have experienced a huge difference since taking the One-a-Day Women's Menopause formula.
After taking this tablet once a day for 2 months, my hot flashes and night sweats have greatly reduced to almost nothing (I used to suffer terrible heat waves followed by sweat all over my face and legs!!! During the night it was a constant battle of "covers off/covers on" as I would get very hot and sweaty, only to suddenly get cold and shivery -- hard to get any sleep because of these menopause symptoms)
The feeling of calmness has increased, so that means better sleep and feeling less anxious/stressed out, making my husband happier instead of fearing the "Mad Woman of Redwood City".
To be fair, I was on hormone therapy - PrepmPro - for one year (April 2009 - April 2010) because my hot flashes and emotional rollercoaster were out of control and literally making me crazy. Yes, the menopause symptoms stopped; Unfortunately, the side affects that hit me were the monthly migraine headaches, which had gotten so bad that I ended up in ER because the pain would not go away and I thought I was having a stroke. I had suffered migraines before when I was on birth-control back in my 20's - i had stopped those immediately after a 2-week bout of migraines. I did the same with the Prempro -I stopped taking them exactly 1 year after starting those pills, and after I ended up at the hospital. I've been off Prempro for 3.5 months, and during that time I have not had any kind of headache since - so the hormones in the Prempro were the true culprit.
Yes, there are many "natural remedies" out there for women going through the change of life; but what can work for one person, may not work for another. Same thing with prescription drugs.
My experience in taking One-A-Day-Menopause Forumula is that it works for me, and I am happy with the current results.
All I need to find now is the cure for the Menopause "weight gain"!!!

I ended up having horrible side effects.... night sweats, cystic acne on my neck, irregular long periods, mood swings, couldn't sleep, gained 40 pounds in just a few months, along with other issues..... I went to the doctor several times. Kept telling them that my issues were hormonal but all I got was "your getting older...metabolism slows and body changes happen" (I'm 36!), "your hormone levels are fine", "you need to exercise".... I was even put on a diet pill. No matter what I said, they wouldn't believe it was hormonal. I know by body and all changes happened after going off the pill. As a last resort, I went into a local Natural Health store. I talked with a wonderful woman about everything I was going through. She told me to try Healthy Hormones. I owe her everything! Within 2 weeks, I was sleeping through the night and the night sweats decreased. My next period was normal and no cycstic acne! I stopped gaining weight and have even been able to lose weight! She recommended taking 3 a day at first (the bottle says to take 9 a day)...if I didn't see results then try 6 then 9.... I've only taken the 3 and have had great results! I can't imagine where I'd be without this stuff!!

(More customer reviews)I know more than I ever wanted to know about the side effects of some phytonutrients that are common in multi-vitamin formulae - particularly those specifically for women. I have SLE with co-morbid hypercoagulability that is not from the factors that typically cause APS. I also have chronic anemia and low vitamin D levels. Very boring, and all it means is that I cannot take anything that will overstimulate my immune system or put me at any higher risk of blood clots.
Unfortunately, it is all too fashionable these days to put lots of black cohosh in women's supplements. It's a great herb if you don't have a history of blood clots, strokes, or seizures, but if you're at risk for any of these, you need to avoid the stuff.
This product has herbs that offer similar balancing benefits without the risk of additional coagulability. Raspberry and red clover actually may help with hyper-coagulability issues. However, there is artichoke in this, so if you are supposed to avoid Vitamin K, you might want to choose a different supplement.
The other thing to watch out for with this supplement is that it gives you 100% of the rda of Vitamin A. It's all from betacarotene, which is good, but if you're pregnant or trying to get pregnant, you're going to want to be really careful that you are not also getting a ton of preformed Vitamin A from animal products. Use New Chapter's Perfect PreNatal instead.
One other caution I have is that the chamomile in this may give you some trouble if you're highly allergic to ragweed.
New Chapter makes products I trust. I've been using their Zyflamend for awhile, now, and it has been an effective pain reliever that has not given me any side effects. They are certified organic and use tremendous care in sourcing and producing their supplements.

(More customer reviews)First, let me begin this review by disclosing that like many people, I have a sensitive stomach when it comes to taking supplements. Vitamins can make me very nauseous. Because of this, at the advice of my doctor, I historically have taken double doses of children's daily multivitamins. Lately, they seem to not be doing much for me, so on a hunch I stopped taking them for a few days to see if I'd notice a difference. Sad to say, I did not, which led me down the path of finding an effective multi-vitamin that I could stomach.
Second disclosure: I'm a vegetarian, and my diet isn't as well-rounded as it could be because I rarely have dairy, and I don't like every single fruit and vegetable out there. So in searching for a solid multi-vitamin, potency/absorbancy were paramount factors.
I came across Alive on Amazon and was astounded at the positve reviews. Some people have been taking it for YEARS and are total diehard fans, yet I had never heard of it. I also ran internet searches and did my homework on Nature's Way. Being the skeptic that I am, I honestly figured it would be a couple weeks before any noticeable difference was apparent, if I noticed any difference at all.
Please forgive me - I know this sounds cheesy like an infomercial, but it's true - the very FIRST time I took Alive Women's Energy, even my busdriver noticed. He was like, "Wow - you're on fire this morning!" and when I got to work, a colleague said, "Okay, crackhead, you obviously got a lot of sleep last night." I'm sharp, focused, upbeat and energized, more so than usual. In fact, I went back to Alive's packaging to confirm there is no caffeine in these pills (there isn't).
While I realize that everything doesn't work for everyone, the high number of users happy with this product isn't a fluke. It's THAT good. Great product that meets its marketing claims, 5 stars.
