Do your research. 450 miligrams of Meriva results in the same amount of curcumin in your blood stream as 8 grams of regularly formulated curcumin. Do not try taking 8 grams of regular curcumin. I've tried it and the side effects are errr unpleasant. Buy some Meriva. It's cheap through Swanson. I don't know how they undercut everyone in price without compromising quality, but they somehow do...
I take 1 meriva/day in the middle of a large meal. I use it for mild IBD and the effects are impressive. Anyone who has IBD knows whether or not a supplement works. And Meriva does.
Another great and tasty way to get curcumin into your system in a bioavailable form is to mix turmeric powder (1 tablespoon) with a few tablespoons of almond butter. You might want to mix in a few sprinkles of black pepper to increase the potency of the curcumin. Both of the aforementioned curcumin preparations have helped me so much that I felt obligated to write this review to help get the word out and ease suffering.
