We bought this for our son who is just under two and has mild eczema on his hands and legs. We've been dealing with his eczema for quite some time and have tried a lot of other products. We keep coming back to this one for a couple of reasons:
1.It doesn't irritate his skin (no fragrance or essential oils)
2.Has glycerin, petroleum jelly, and mineral oil - the triad of moisturizers all in one
3.Has dimethicone to help protect his skin from abrasion
4.Has colloidal oatmeal to help with the itching
We put it on right after his evening bath (to lock in the moisture) and once or twice a day as needed.
This won't "cure" eczema but it does help keep the skin moisturized and my son definitely scratches less when we use it (in fact when he's itchy he asks for "lotion"). When he flares up we combine this with a basic hydrocortisone (our pediatrician recommended getting hydrocortisone ointments which are generally just petroleum jelly and hydrocortisone). It probably goes without saying that if your baby has eczema it good to talk to your doctor about treatment. Our doctor gave us good advice on how best to use over-the-counter products safely so as to minimize side-effects. He also gave us some things we could do to prevent secondary infections and arranged a blood test to help determine what our son's food triggers were. All combined we're starting to finally get ahead of the eczema.

Boericke & Tafel Florasone Itches & Rashes Cream -- 1 oz Review

My 5 year old son developed eczema without any known cause. Took him to pediatrician and the allergist, both prescribed high-dose steroid topical oil. Used the steroid oil until I could find a non-steroid solution to his itching. The steroid oil worked well however it bleached his skin which is the least of my worries with the product. By chance my eye caught sight of florasone at my organic grocier's shelf. I've been using florasone for 2 months, 2-4 times a day. Florasone stops the itch as soon as its applied and the redness is nearly gone by morning. The active ingredient is Cardiospermum. You can grow this vine plant pretty much anywhere. I'm going to plant this vine in my yard!

I've tried everything for dry eyes and none of them work for any length of time, but this simple stuff seems to give me more relief for a longer period than the others. I've found that with the others, I have to reapply constantly once I've started using them and eventually my eyes become irritated and/or crusty from the residue. Although I have to reapply this stuff too, a few times, it seems to have fewer side effects.
I've always had dry eyes, but they've gotten worse as I've gotten older and now in the evenings at the computer or TV, sometimes I have to do something if I want to continue watching or working. While my doctor suggested more sophisticated alternatives and gave me a couple of samples, I found them less satisfactory and returned to this basic formula. Drinking a lot of water also helps, I've found. I don't want to commit to the prescription solution as apparently it is forever, so as long as this works, I'll use it. I'm sure different solutions work for different folks, but this is worth a try if you're not satisfied with others.
