Similasan Dry Eye Relief Eye Drops .33 Ounce Bottle Review

I was in so much pain with my dry eyes I could hardly function. I tried almost every over the counter eye drops I could find and none helped for more than a few seconds. The eye doctor finally gave me Lotemax, a prescription steroid. It gave me relief. The only problems were that it cannot be used for the long term and it's very expensive. The doctor wanted me to take Restasis. I tried it and it made my eyes worse. Finally a wonderful, knowledgeable woman in the supplement department at our Sprouts market recommended Similasan Dry Eye Relief drops. I was desperate and would have tried anything. I was thrilled that these drops gave me relief and I've been able to stop using the steroid. Thankfully, I can avoid Big Pharma now. I'm very grateful to Similasan.

Bion Tears Lubricant Eye Drops (28 Vials) Review

Bion Tears Lubricant Eye Drops (28 Vials)
Average Reviews:

I have very dry and sensitive eyes due to an auto-immune condition, and have had to use artificial tears for decades. I've gone through many types and brands. BION Tears are the only ones on the market now that give my eyes enough moisture but not too much, are not "sticky" so they don't blur vision, and are enough too relieve my dryness without any side effects from ingredients. Even other brands that supposedly have no preservatives/additives have bothered my eyes. I use BION Tears regularly throughout the day, and sometimes use an ointment at night. The one thing I would say, is that they aren't enough when I have to fly on an airplane.(But, I find Systane ULTRA, another product by the same maker, works well for that.) I just hope they keep making BION Tears! My luck is to find something good and then it's discontinued! Now that I've found BION Tears online for a much better price than I've found anywhere else, including discount retailers like Target and WalMart, I'M HAPPY!!

Thera Tears Nutrition, 1200mg Omega-3 Supplement Capsules, 90-Count Review

Thera Tears Nutrition, 1200mg Omega-3 Supplement Capsules, 90-Count

Eighteen months ago, I was at a point where I could no longer look at a computer screen without my eyes literally ACHING. My vision was increasingly blurred, and reading was beyond my tolerance, other than for a few moments at a time. This was serious, serious stuff, since I'm an advanced graduate student and have several hundred pages of text to read each week! I finally couldn't tolerate the pain and went in to see my optometrist -- who discovered I had significant corneal scarring from severe dry eye syndrome. Left untreated, I was destined to lose my eyesight. I was immediately scheduled for two corneal surgeries, and I was prescribed Restasis, oil-based lubricants, and a thicker ointment for nighttime lubrication. Plus, my doctor recommended Theratears.
For months, I literally applied drops every half hour throughout the day, and I faithfully used my Restasis and took these Theratears. My reading materials were enlarged to get me through my semester as I awaited surgery. It was a scary time, and I was discouraged, wondering if this would ever improve.
A specialist removed the corneal scarring, and he echoed the sentiments of my optometrist about the use of all of these lubricants AND the Theratears. "It really does make a difference," he assured me. Worse case scenario, he added that we could consider tear duct plugs, if these measures didn't help.
Eighteen months later, I've cut back to once-a-day use of the Restasis, and my multiple-times daily drops are a thing of the past. I still use the night ointment, but otherwise, I rely on Theratears.
If you have severe dry eye syndrome, try this. My specialist even swears by them!

Tears Naturale II Polyquad Lubricant Eye Drops, 1-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 2) Review

I had LASIK surgery about a month ago, and bought Tears Naturale with Polyquad from Amazon at the recommendation from my friend. While the drops do lubricate well, there's some oily substance in the liquid that blurs my vision for several minutes. The feeling then goes away, and I can see clearly.
I found the other popular brand, Refresh Plus by Allergan (single use vials), to be much more effective. They are just as lubricant, and don't blur your vision.

Innoxa French Blue Eye Drops Gouttes Bleues 10ml Review

Innoxa French Blue Eye Drops Gouttes Bleues 10ml

It sounded intiguing, sparkling eyes, whiter whites, bluer blues. Who wouldn't want their eyes to pop? I paid a ridiculous amount of money to try this, sometimes I think I'm a lemming. The pros: It is a very pretty blue color in the bottle, and it has a unique dropper system that makes it easy to use. The cons: does not remove any redness, does not make your whites look whiter, does not make your eyes look bluer or more sparkly. If you do have some redness, you cannot use Visine first because the instructions say do not use with any other eye drops. The directions also say to use several drops in each eye, but one drop is very generous, more than you get from a Visine bottle, and so it would run down my face like a tear. A blue tear. Seriously. Ladies, if you do use this, use before you apply your make up because you'll just be wiping it off. I was also annoyed by the fact that the drops need to be used up within two weeks of opening the bottle. Maybe if multiples users were putting three drops in each eye three times a day, you might be able to use it up, but I will have to discard 90% of it. I hope this saves someone some money.

Visine Advanced Relief Lubricant, Redness Reliever Eye Drops, 1-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 3) Review

Visine Advanced Relief Lubricant, Redness Reliever Eye Drops, 1-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 3)

I've tried everything for dry eyes and none of them work for any length of time, but this simple stuff seems to give me more relief for a longer period than the others. I've found that with the others, I have to reapply constantly once I've started using them and eventually my eyes become irritated and/or crusty from the residue. Although I have to reapply this stuff too, a few times, it seems to have fewer side effects.
I've always had dry eyes, but they've gotten worse as I've gotten older and now in the evenings at the computer or TV, sometimes I have to do something if I want to continue watching or working. While my doctor suggested more sophisticated alternatives and gave me a couple of samples, I found them less satisfactory and returned to this basic formula. Drinking a lot of water also helps, I've found. I don't want to commit to the prescription solution as apparently it is forever, so as long as this works, I'll use it. I'm sure different solutions work for different folks, but this is worth a try if you're not satisfied with others.
